From initial idea to execution: Bilfinger Tebodin supports plant operators in the electrification process by consulting on investment planning, conducting feasibility studies and performing the conceptual, basic and detail engineering on their behalf.  

Concept Engineering, Feasibility and scenario studies

We combine concept engineering with both feasibility and scenario studies to help our clients make strategic decisions. Feasibility and scenario studies are geared towards establishing the technical and economic feasibility (CAPEX and OPEX) of various combinations of sustainable electricity production and electrification. We identify the possibilities and indicate what the smartest and most cost-effective solutions are as sustainable alternatives to natural gas.  

When a certain scenario proves to be technically and economically feasible, we will proceed with the conceptual engineering. We develop the scenario technically, compile a cost estimate (e.g. +/-30% accuracy) and select the required equipment, for example using heat pumps. 


Basic and Detail Engineering

In addition to providing technical consulting services, our high-quality plant engineering services are our core business. Utility engineering is one of our key competencies. With a multi-disciplinary approach, we support our clients in all aspects of turnkey projects.  


Bilfinger Tebodin provided the basic engineering for the integration of a 25 MWe electrical steam boiler in an existing paper mill.
