Video: Construction progress of Clariant’s second-generation bioethanol production plant in Romania

Bilfinger Tebodin is providing EPCM services for a commercial-scale plant for the production of cellulosic ethanol from agricultural residues based on Clariant’s sunliquid® technology. Clariant, a focused, sustainable and innovative specialty chemical company, is building it in the Craiova region of Romania.

The construction of the plant is making good progress. Bilfinger Tebodin has been managing the project for Clariant since 2019. The design is nearly completed and the construction works are forging ahead. The installation of tanks at the first-of-its-kind cellulosic ethanol plant has recently started.

Despite the still challenging situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, work on the construction site is continuing and numerous hygiene measures have been implemented to protect the health and safety of employees and construction workers on site.
