Masterclass: success factors modernization process operating system

During a recently well attended masterclass Huntsman, Emerson, OTS and Tebodin explained which approach is responsible for the successful implementation of a completely new process operating system during a plant shutdown. The most important success factors are a clear vision and the cooperation between supplier, consultants, users, client and other relevant partners. Also is it important to gather all the required knowledge at an early stage. Equally important is the dynamic simulation training in the start-up phase by OTS (Operations-Training-Solutions) which contributed to a safe and efficient start up.

In 2015 Tebodin and Emerson Process Management (the supplier of the operating system) led the migration of an operating system of the Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) plant of Huntsman Holland in Rotterdam. During the plant shutdown, a completely new process operating system has been implemented. Due to the above mentioned success factors the migration has been problem-free and executed within fourteen months.

The masterclass which was organized in cooperation with Deltalinqs gave the audience good insights in a large-scale and complicated project and how the various challenges were solved. Participants of the masterclass were very interested in the project, asked a lot of questions afterwards and were curious about the learnings.
