In-Country Value conference in Muscat

On February 13, 2014, the STS-Tebodin joint venture partners Tebodin & Partner and STS organized an In-Country Value conference in Muscat.
The event was attended by H.E. Salim Al-Aufi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil & Gas, as well as by PDO senior management led by PDO Managing Director Mr. Raoul Restucci. Both expressed in their speeches their recognition and appreciation for STST’s efforts as well as their keen interest in further In-Company Value developments in 2014.

Through several presentations an overview was given of various elements through which the joint venture contributes to In-Country Value in Oman, such as creating employment for Omanis at STS-Tebodin, subcontracting work to local companies and other specific initiatives such as Stealth-Lock technology for pipeline installation and investments plans for a Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coating plant in Sohar. The main purpose of the event was to celebrate that a new group of approximately 120 Omanis have recently joined the EMC workforce, both in Engineering and in Construction. At year-end 2013, the joint venture’s workforce executing the EMC North contract for PDO consisted of approximately 7,000 employees of which more than 2,500 Omanis.

The Engineering and Maintenance Contract (EMC) includes all on-plot engineering, procurement services, construction and commissioning of all green and brown field projects and subsequent maintenance and management services for PDO's Oil and Gas surface facilities throughout the company's northern concession area in Oman.
