Federal Mogul Motorparts moved in new WDP-building in Romania

On April 14, 2016, the Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos was present at the grand opening of the new Federal-Mogul plant in Ploiesti. Together with WDP Development, the American motor parts company Federal-Mogul realized a brand new factory for windshield wipers arms and blades. There was less than one year from Federal-Mogul board approval until the start up. Tebodin in Romania gave excellent support to it.
Federal-Mogul Motorparts sells and distributes products under more than 20 brands in the global vehicle aftermarket. The company’s wide variety of products are used by numerous servicers and original equipment manufacturers around the globe.
WDP is market leader in the Benelux when it comes to letting of semi-industrial and logistic real estate. As owner of the building they were closely involved in the building process. Federal Mogul and WDP together decided to ask Tebodin for their architectural expertise. Tebodin’s operation in Romania took care of the design and engineering, as well as the following up from an architectural point of view. According to Iulian Ghita, Value Stream Manager of Federal Mogul Wipers, Tebodin was chosen based on its good overall company reputation and previous experience in designing similar facilities in Romania.
The project started in April 2015 and has been completed in time. One of the greatest challenges was the lack of time. Mr. Ghita comments: ‘Since the beginning of the design phase, we were continuously in close contact with Tebodin and we solved all the issues we faced. The outstanding communication and openness of the Tebodin team was and still is highly appreciated.'
