Bilfinger Tebodin supports ‘My first money’ – a social program for school students

Choosing your future career is no easy task. Bilfinger Tebodin gives an opportunity for school aged students to try out the life in the engineering company. Bilfinger Tebodin in Ukraine is a part of the ‘My first money’ program – a project for pro-active young people who want to earn a bit and explore various professions. Danylo Dzuban, an ambitious 16-year old, joined the program this year and spent one week exploring the engineering world at Bilfinger Tebodin.

Danylo is a tenth grade student in Lviv, Ukraine. He took on a job of a manager assistant and was introduced to engineering processes, architecture and basics of BIM modelling. ‘It was a great experience to see the work of an engineer from the inside,’ – Danylo says. ‘I was surprised to discover how creative this job is. What I also enjoyed here was the communication with colleagues – it was very easy to find help if I needed it’’.

Before the traineeship, Danylo was planning a career in IT. Now he is also considering engineering or architecture as his future specialization. ‘I would be glad to come back to Bilfinger Tebodin for a longer term traineeship as a student’, he adds.

Our Project Engineering Manager Mykola Vorontsov initiated the company's participation in the program. He supervised Danylo during his employment and found it a valuable experience: ‘I am happy that through such projects as ‘My first money’ we can support young people who are eager to earn their own money and try themselves at a workplace. We will continue participating in the program, so that more students can discover the exciting world of engineering.’

Meanwhile, the demand for engineering specialists grows each year. According to LinkedIn rating in 2021, hiring for engineering roles grew nearly 25% between 2019 and 2020.

‘Engineering will always be in demand. This job constantly develops together with new technologies, however a qualified specialist is always wanted,’ Artem Berenda, Director of Bilfinger Tebodin office in Lviv, says. ‘After years of experience I clearly see that this sphere offers many opportunities for those who want to achieve heights, feel confident in the future and be sure that their work makes a difference.’
