Bilfinger Tebodin organizes knowledge sharing event for regional water authorities in the Netherlands. Watch the video!

On February 6, 2020 Bilfinger Tebodin organized a knowledge sharing event for the regional water authorities in the Netherlands. Important themes such as energy transition, asset management and compliance were discussed. We look back on a successful afternoon and due to the high amount of interaction between participants of the various water authorities, the goal of the day, sharing knowledge on these themes was certainly achieved.

The most important functions within a waste water chain in the Netherlands are the collection, transport and purification of waste water from citizens and companies for the benefit of public health. Ensuring good water quality is also one of the core tasks. Increasing importance is also attached to other social tasks in areas such as circularity, energy transition and sustainability, but at the same time there is also public money: how do we deal with this as efficiently as possible? Citizens and politicians often seem to see only taxes, but have little awareness of the performance and risks involved.

Program of the day:

  • Ageing assets (by Petra Jalink, Bilfinger Tebodin)
  • 'The biggest risk is a missed opportunity' (by Peter van der Haven, Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland)
  • Future-proof pipelines systems (by Alexander Leicher, Bilfinger Tebodin)
  • Innovation (by Rudi Gerard, Waterschap Rijn en IJssel)
  • 'Safari': visit to the water treatment installation of Burgers Zoo
