A step in the roadmap towards zero carbon

The companies in Rotterdam’s port and industrial complex represent a strong demand for electric power. They can possibly contribute to the flexibility required within the Netherlands’ electricity market due to the variations in the grid caused by renewable energy.

Deltalinqs, with Tebodin as project lead and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have joined forces with companies in the Rijnmond region to determine which flex opportunities exist like power to heat and power to products. The potential and market volume of flexibility in the balance market (difference in supply and demand of electrical power) have been determined and there are feasible options possible to take-off.

For next steps Tebodin can participate in the development and implementation of these options. Read in this report (in Dutch) about case studies on specific opportunities and barriers for companies such as AkzoNobel.
