STIHL opens a new office and warehouse complex in Russia

A new office and warehouse complex for STIHL in Krasnodar allows the manufacturer to expand its sales and services network in the south of Russia. Around 10,000 products are stored in the warehouse – power tools and equipment for the forestry industry, agriculture, construction and gardening, under the brands STIHL and VIKING, and widely known in 160 countries.

Bilfinger Tebodin provided management services at the site for over a year. The scope of work included representing client’s interests in work and communication with the general contractor throughout all stages of the construction process. This entailed: the collection of project documentation, contract and HSE control, checking of the documentation provided by the General Contractor, consulting in the preparation for obtaining an operational commissioning permit, commissioning control.

‘This 6.352 m2 facility will reduce our expenditure and let us have a larger stock of products of the most diverse range to meet the customers’ needs’, stated Andrey Gubenko, General Director of STIHL SUEDWEST Ltd. ‘The complex also includes a training center for dealers to improve the quality of trade and service in the region. The facility allows for a possible further expansion and serves to unite our team in one environment - our new own house. This is an important step for STIHL, confirming the most serious development intentions on the Russian market’.

Roy Piek, Director PMC at Bilfinger Tebodin, commented that he highly appreciates the cooperation with STIHL and client’s approach to the project: using new technologies and sustaining high standards for the design and construction of its facilities.

This is not the first project conducted for STIHL. Bilfinger Tebodin cooperated on two other STIHL facilities: their office and warehouse complex in Kiev, Ukraine and their logistics center in Tarnowo Podgórne, Poland.
