Why waste?

The “circular economy” is a term that is increasing in popularity over the years. Both regional and national governments as global organizations such as the United Nations have the vision to grow the share of the circular economy. Recent research has showed that the circularity of the Netherlands is at 24,5%. The goal of the Dutch government is to be fully circular by 2050. The challenge now is to make the other 75,5% circular as well.

An essential part of this challenge to 100% circular is to use waste and residual flows in business processes instead of disposing of them as waste.
