First IKEA store with BREEAM standards

Ikea’s first store in Serbia is also the company’s 400th store worldwide. In line with Ikea’s goal to achieve energy independency by producing the amount of energy that it consumes, the new store is not only certificated to the standard BREEAM requirements for waste, transport, and ecology. The store of 35,000m2 embodies innovative solutions that meet IKEA’s high standards in the field of energy efficiency. Bilfinger Tebodin is engaged as a FIDIC (Fédération Internationale Des Ingénieurs-Conseils) engineer, complying with FIDIC’s White Book – conditions of contracts for construction. This includes technical control of designs, site
supervision, and health and safety coordination services.
