Nieuwe Maas

Rotterdam, the Netherlands

In order for Rijkswaterstaat to be able to start with the dredging of the Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to deepen the waterway; six old pipelines of Shell had to be removed. In the past, these pipelines connected sites of Shell in Pernis and in Vlaardingen. The project leaps out since our pipelines department usually performs engineering for the construction of pipelines, whereas in this project they supported in the removal of pipelines.

Watch the video in which Maarten van der Weijde, Project Manager at Shell and Maarten van der Velden, Project Manager at Bilfinger Tebodin elaborate on this remarkable project.
