Demolition and installation of a new facility for coal tar distillation

Rütgers Severtar is a joint venture between Rütgers GmbH (one of the world’s largest coal tar distillers) and OAO Severstal (Russia’s largest steel maker). This multi-subcontracting project involved an international team from Bilfinger Tebodin (Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands) and client’s side (Germany, Belgium, Russia) worked on this multi-subcontracting project. This challenging brownfield project, dealing with 75-year old steel mill, was successfully accomplished in arctic temperatures of -38°C.
