Technical and process safety instruction for applying ammonia to textiles
Nijverdal, the Netherlands
TenCate is a worldwide manufacturer of high-performance protective fabrics. A new production line was constructed for applying ammonia to textiles. Bilfinger Tebodin carried out a process safety study, and a Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) study, followed by ad-hoc interventions with advice and support and ultimate close-out. Specifically we were asked to provide technical and process safety instruction and to explore how to apply it in an engineering project of this size. According to Henri Aal, manager Technology from TenCate Protective Fabrics, Bilfinger Tebodin was certainly the right partner in this project. Their pro-active and hands-on approach and continued interest and support helped us to embrace process safety and the technical aspects of safety further.
